What's New at CQ 03/24/16

Dear Quilting Friends,

You may (or may not) know that I've just returned from a month-long vacation to visit my daughter in New Zealand.  It was wonderful!  Melbourne was lovely, with interesting buildings and bridges that were works of art, quilt literally.  We walked through the Botanical Gardens and around the city, and we had some really good food and wine.  We also spend a glorious week at Abel Tasman National Park, sitting on our little deck while enjoying breakfast with sparrows and pukekos for companions, along with a field full of horses and one white mule. It was green and cool and the air was filled with birdsong.   The wine was fabulous. Pete enjoyed the beer, too. The summer fruit was yummy and the apples were just beginning to appear (they consider March 1 to be the first day of autumn).

Back to work for me!  The staff has taken amazingly good care of the shop, and, I hope, all of you.  I'm facing a huge learning curve, as the new computer system went into place the day I left.  I think they planned it that way.

In any event, I'd love to hear and see what you all have been working on!  Please stop in and say hi!

Go'n'piece,

Alison Zacharkiw

NEW

We have a Ghastlie Project from Alexander Henry, and some Ghastlie coordinates.  Kat stitched up the characters into dolls, and we've been having fun placing them around the shop.  Panels are $8.50 each, coordinates are $11.99/yard.

Island Batiks just drop-shipped more bolts than you can shake a stick at! These are but a few of the offerings.  A wide variety of colors & patterns came in; there's something for everyone!  $12.99/yard.

In the same Island Batik shipment:  Scarves, and bolts of rayon batik!  Rayon is perfect for garment construction.  Scarves, $15.95 each, rayon batik, $14.50/yard.
